Lamberto Tomassini (Tomas)

I am a self-taught Italian cartoonist from Rome, mainly dealing with caricature portraits and political cartoons (made through both digital graphics and traditional drawing techniques).
Despite my “late vocation”, I have published satirical cartoons in some national newspapers as well as in international websites.
I have also participated in numerous exhibitions dedicated to graphic humour, earning several awards, among which the most important is the Sartore Prize, won in 2013 in the contest Umoristi in Marostica.
For me, good satire is always revolutionary in the sense that it can give us an alternative point of view. In other words, it can show us that a different world is possible. That's why, I think, a conservative satire can’t really work.
